The God that Sets Me Free

Freedom is unique thing.

It’s messy.

It’s endless.

However, it is what we are called to walk in.  There is a God who came to earth, clothed in flesh, to bring freedom to a humanity desperately trapped in sin.

As my team arrives tomorrow, the Lord has been speaking freedom to me.  I know full well that he wants to release freedom, heal their broken hearts, and bind up their wounds.  He wants to breathe life into the dead places and awaken the sleepers.

Most of all, I know he wants to use them to do these same things.

Deliverer. Healer. Worthy.

Just a few of the names the Lord has spoken over them.

I know these next 3 months will lead me into greater depths of freedom in my own walk and story.  And as I seek to vulnerable and authentic, I pray that my trust in the Lord will encourage them to allow the Lord to work on their hearts, that they may experience the refreshing truth of the gospel day in and day out.

“You can be broken, but completely free.”

The Lord is with us through it all.  His blood makes us new.  His freedom is worth fighting for.

He heard you,
when your eyes were closed and your head held low,
He kept the promise that he made,
For the times he had to lay down and die,
He held you,
and showed you how to keep hope alive, alive
keep hope alive

And when the caged bird sings,
and your eyes lay hold of your dreams,
and your heart burns with the kiss that he’s given, you will see, you will see

That it’s his love, that carried us.

Galatians 5:1–It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be encumbered once more by a yoke of slavery.

John 8:36–So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

It’s a never-ending journey. Pray for me as I walk it boldly.
