October 17 a friend gave me the word Nicaragua.
December 21st began the process of leading a mission trip.
April 28th I found out I was accepted to lead a passport trip.
July 6th I was told it would be going to Nicaragua.
August 26th I finally had a co-leader.
September 1st the team arrived. And now on September 5th, we are leaving.
It’s funny to think that while I was finishing school and then away in Missouri, God was intricately orchestrating 17 other lives with this day in mind.
Lord, how do you see us and know us each so intimately?
We’re leaving, but we’re leaving lighter than we came here. Yes, our luggage may have lost a few pounds because we used some shampoo, but what I am talking is our hearts. My girls are leaving freer than when they came.
They are more joyful, more hopeful, more at peace because they have encountered the God who loves them. They are taking steps to know him.
And as I journey these next three months with them, my only prayer is that I can go to places I haven’t been so that they can follow me to the depths of the Father’s heart.
May the Lord bless us and keep us. May his face smile upon us and be gracious to us. May the Lord lift up his countenance upon us and give us peace.
