I don’t know why it struck me,
but one of our little friends at CICRIN asked of our Spanish speaking girls why there weren’t any men–no men who come for 3 months and speak Spanish and play with them. And he’s right you know.
So I ask you? Why aren’t there any men?
Why did my team come with 18 women? Why out of all 4 teams sent out all over the world, only 4 men felt the call?
Surely it can’t be that the Lord only calls women, for the 12 disciples were men. Surely it can’t be that men stay home and light fires? Because the churches have the same ratios in America.
Maybe we adopt a Spirit of apathy toward men. We say they haven’t, so they won’t. And in that, we allow a spiritual complacency that makes ripples all over the world.
So here I am, challenging all the men to rise up and be called. Walk boldly in that calling. There are little boys who need someone to teach them what it means to be a man of God.
Maybe you once we’re that same little boy. Your saviour is calling to higher Heights and deeper depths.
The Lord has called you to make disciples. Go.
So that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
